Welcome to
Young Warriors Football - 2011
After 19 successful seasons in which over 3000
athletes participated, the Young Warriors are
growing again in 2011!
This year the program is again open to interested
children who will be in the 5th, 6th, 7th, or
8th grades in the fall of 2011.
The program will concentrate on football basics
and will be open to all children meeting the medical
and registration requirements. although we will
play teams from other communities, the emphasis
of the league will be on instruction and fundamentals.
FEES
The basic fee of $325 will cover registration,
league fees, accident and medical insurance and
a game jersey the player can keep after the season.
MEDICAL
Before any child will be allowed to participate
in ANY PRACTICE OR GAME, the Young Warriors Football
Association must have a completed medical form
signed by a licensed physician on file.
As in prior years, we plan on having a certified
athletic trainer at each of the league games.
This assures that athletes receive speedy and
top quality medical attention for any on field
injury.
EQUIPMENT
The Young Warriors will furnish excellent helmets,
shoulder pads and game jersey. Helmets and shoulder
pads are to be returned upon completion of the
season. All other personal equipment (shoes, other
pads and pants) will be the responsibility of
the parents. Returning players will be able to
use last year's hip, knee and thigh pads, pants,
socks, and belts.
Young Warriors has negotiated a special discount
for personal equipment through K&M Team Outfitters.
We will be able to fit and supply all personal
equipment (with the exeption of shoes) at the
time of registration. The approximate cost will
be $110.
INSURANCE
The Young Warriors will carry accident and medical
insurance for each participant. This coverage
is designed to supplement individual medical coverage.
You must complete the liability waiver, emergency
service permission, and insurance waiver. Prior
to a child participating in ANY PRACTICE OR GAME,
this form must be on file with the Young Warriors.
COACHING
Coaching will be under the direction of Steve
Winiecki, head coach of the DHS varsity football
team. All coaches are volunteers with ACEP certification
with a strong interest in teaching football fundamentals
and in promoting sportsmanship and team participation.
All coaches must pass a background check.
REGISTRATION
The only registration will be held in the spring.
After that, registration will be on a space available
basis only and will be dependent upon the availability
of equipment.
SCHEDULES

High School (five practices per week). After school
begins, practice will be conducted during the
